How Machine Width and Weight Determine Which
Trailer to Rent
Width is the first filter. Standard ATVs run 46 to 50 inches wide and fit on most utility trailer decks with room for strapping on either side. Full-cab side-by-side UTVs regularly measure 60 inches or more, which requires a wider deck than a compact utility trailer provides. Measuring the machine before selecting a trailer type removes any uncertainty about whether it physically fits.
Weight is the second filter and applies to both the trailer's GVWR and the tow vehicle's capacity. A utility trailer rated for 3,500 pounds is not the right rental for a 2,200-pound UTV plus a second machine. The total combined weight of all machines on the trailer needs to stay within the trailer's rating. Providing machine weight information when arranging the ATV trailer rental in Waco allows Big Rentals to confirm the right trailer before the rental date rather than discovering a mismatch at the lot.
