Single Axle vs. Tandem Axle Trailers for
Multi-Machine ATV Hauls

Single axle trailers are lighter and easier to back into tighter spaces. For a single ATV or a light UTV where the total weight stays well within the trailer's rating, a single axle utility trailer rental is often sufficient. The lower trailer weight also means it pairs with a broader range of tow vehicles, including mid-size trucks and capable SUVs.

Tandem axle trailers carry more weight and provide better stability when the combined load pushes into the higher weight range or when two machines sit side by side. For Waco riders hauling two full-size ATVs or a UTV alongside a standard ATV, a tandem axle rental is the safer and more stable configuration. The additional axle distributes the load more evenly and reduces the handling effects of a heavy deck on the tow vehicle during transit.
