Which One Fits Your Machine
The main thing that determines which trailer type works for your machine is ground clearance. If your machine sits low to the ground, a tilt deck is almost always the better choice. The deck lowers all the way to the ground and the machine drives on at a very shallow angle, which avoids any scraping or contact issues. Compact skid steers, mini excavators, and most smaller tracked machines fall into this category.
If your machine has more clearance underneath, like a full-size farm tractor or a larger excavator, a ramp-style trailer works fine and may give you a higher weight rating for heavier loads.
